To what is Jesus referring?
What would we want to escape from?
Nothing less than the Tribulation!
Jesus describes some of the awful things that are about to come upon the earth:
Distress of Nations, with perplexity.
Men`s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which
are coming on the earth.
(see Luke 21 verses 25-26)
Jesus foretells a time of trouble coming upon the earth that will be so bad
that nothing has ever been like it before since creation and
'no, nor ever shall
be`
Matt.24 : 21.
Jesus gives us good, sound advice!
"Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be accounted worthy to escape…!"
What form shall our escape take?
The Bible teaches us that Jesus will come in the air and 'rapture` away all those who are prepared.
"To those who eagerly wait for Him He will
appear a second time…."
Heb. 9:28
"For the Lord Himself
will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel and
with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who
are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the air, and
thus we shall always be with the Lord."
1 Thess 4 : 16-17
Those words 'caught up` are rendered 'rapti` in the Latin Vulgate, from where we get our English word 'rapture`
Those who deny the rapture, and there are many, do not realise how terrible the tribulation will be.
They accuse those of us who preach the biblical doctrine of the rapture, of being escapists!
I tell you a truth; God wants you to escape!
"…wait for His
Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us
from the wrath to come"
1 Thess. 1:10
Jesus Christ endured the wrath of God in our place on the cross of Calvary. God offers us a full salvation, forgiveness from all our sins and a place in heaven that Jesus has gone to prepare (John 14 :2)
Will you come to Him, repent
of your sin and receive His salvation?
You can be prepared to meet Jesus in the air and be part of that glorious RAPTURE of His true Church!
