Sunday Thought – Sunday 3rd December 2017

“And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come” 1 Thessalonians 1:10

“For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ” 1 Thessalonians 5:9

“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation (Provocation; discipline; trial) which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth” Revelation 3:10

“For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” Revelation 6:17

Pre-Trib, Mid -Trib, Pre-Wrath or Post-Trib, we’ve all heard much about these different positions as to when the RAPTURE OF THE TRUE CHURCH takes place, in relation to the TRIBULATION. Some may even grow tired of hearing all the arguments for and against each position. Many take the view that it just doesn’t matter. They ‘SIT ON THE FENCE’ and never make their own mind up. Many Pastors and preachers don’t teach any of the positions for fear of arguments and offending those of a different belief than themselves.

Many times I have come into contact with Christians who take the view that as long as they remain faithful to Jesus, IT WILL ALL PAN OUT IN THE END!

I personally take a very different view. To me it is of utmost importance. I will not read the writings or listen to the teaching of teachers and preachers who SIT ON THE FENCE on what I call a matter of extreme doctrinal importance. I hold firmly to the PRE-TRIB POSITION, that is that Jesus will come to collect/snatch His true Church, His bride, BEFORE THE TRIBULATION COMMENCES. I firmly believe after many years of studying this subject, that it is the only position that fits all scripture.

I will not entertain any other position, and I would like to tell you plainly why I hold to this view so strongly.

ANY TEACHING or doctrinal POSITION, that allows the Church to go through either a part or the whole of the TRIBULATION, UNDERMINES CALVARY AND OUR LORD’S DEATH UPON THE CROSS. There, I’ve said it! I’ve laid my cards on the table, as it were. The true believer needs to understand exactly what the TRIBULATION is. IT IS NOT just a time of great sin on the part of man. It is not purely the work of satan and the antichrist, although that is part of it. THE TRIBULATION IS God’s wrath being poured out upon a sinful, disbelieving world of people who WILL NOT REPENT. Revelation says this about the very beginning of the Tribulation:

“For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” Revelation 6:17

Why doesn’t Jesus return NOW? Surely the world is wicked enough to warrant His return? There is just one thing preventing our Lord’s return RIGHT NOW, THIS VERY MINUTE.

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise (to return for His Church), as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” 2 Peter 3:9

Just notice the wording of that verse. NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH. When Jesus returns and RAPTURES His true Church, those left behind WILL PERISH in the tribulation, UNDER THE WRATH OF GOD. That is why THE TRUE CHURCH can never go through the tribulation.

The wrath of God was poured out on Jesus as He hung upon that OLD RUGGED CROSS. He endured the wrath of God as He bore OUR SIN. The judgment of our sin is GONE. It’s PASSED. Jesus bore it all for us.

To say, or teach, that there is a chance the redeemed Church of God will endure God’s wrath which Jesus has already endured for us, IS TO SAY OUR LORD’S DEATH WAS NOT SUFFICIENT. That teaching is saying that God will judge our sin TWICE.

That is why any other position other than the PRE-TRIB RAPTURE position, UNDERMINES CHRIST’S ATONING WORK ON THE CROSS. I can never bring myself to have any part of that, which is CLEARLY HERESY.

My precious Saviour Jesus Christ, paid my full debt on the cross. Through His shed blood, I have full forgiveness for ALL MY SIN. He paid my debt ONCE FOR ALL.

“But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God” Hebrews 10:12

One Sacrifice for sin FOREVER. We NEVER have to face the wrath of God because Jesus faced it for us. NEVER TAKE AWAY FROM CHRIST’S ATONING DEATH FOR US!

“For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ” 1 Thessalonians 5:9

Sunday Thought – Sunday 1st October 2017

“My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!” James 3:1-5

People have poked their tongue out at one person in particular, more than anyone else. THEIR DOCTOR! How many times have you visited your doctor and he has asked you to stick your tongue out? Because a doctor can tell a lot about your general health from your tongue.

Likewise James, in the New Testament, examines the TONGUE to get a picture of our spiritual health. What story does your tongue relate? We all at some time or other, offend others with our tongue. If we don’t, James tells us, we are PERFECT, but I very much doubt that I am speaking to any perfect people this morning. God declares each one of us IMPERFECT.

“If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man” James 3:2

“They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one” Romans 3:12

First of all, James singles out BIBLE TEACHERS. (Masters) He tells his hearers that they shouldn’t desire to be a TEACHER of God’s word, without serious thought. Because a TEACHER of God’s word will have a much harsher judgment. We will be judged by what we teach others. If we teach things that are not true, we will bring judgment upon ourselves.

The office of BIBLE TEACHER (Ephesians 4:11) is one that I personally never wanted or asked for. It was God that called and led me into this avenue of service for Him. Because of this, I am very careful what I teach. I check everything out with God’s precious Word.

Not all Bible teachers are so careful unfortunately. The Bible makes this very clear.

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables”                  2 Timothy 4:3-4

So we are urged not to desire to be a teacher without careful thought, because it involves using that little unruly member THE TONGUE.

We should always guard our TONGUE!. Words can be used to bless, heal, praise, encourage but also to hurt and deeply offend.

James goes on to show us how just a tiny thing, like our TONGUE can cause very big trouble. He uses the illustration of FIRE. Just striking a match can set a whole forest ablaze. An angry word, however justly caused, can split a whole congregation of God’s people. Gossip, even if the thing passed on is true, can sever relationships and friendships that may never be healed.

“The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly” Proverbs 18:8

The true believer, in these last days, should be using their tongues to BUILD UP, ENCOURAGE, and to spread the glorious GOSPEL of our Lord Jesus Christ. We should be warning folk today, in love, of the return of Jesus Christ. I urge you, and myself, to use the TONGUE for good. To allow our great God, by His Holy Spirit, to put His words into our mouths, and to speak to bring Him glory.

Forgiving one another will often calm a bad situation. It doesn’t matter who is right or wrong, we are all taught by Jesus to FORGIVE. Then there will be no temptation to use bad words and conversation that brings hurt to others.

Instead, use your TONGUE to praise our God!

“Because thy loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee”        Psalm 63:3

Hiscoming Ministries

For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong” 2 Corinthians 12:8-10

I am not going to enter into theological debate here as to what Paul’s “Thorn in the flesh” actually was. It will suffice to say that it was some form of bodily affliction from which Paul sought deliverance. But I will say this:

The Apostle Paul asked God on the first occasion if He would remove the thorn. Did God Answer? Did God remove it? NO.

The Apostle Paul asked God on the second occasion if He would remove the thorn. Again, did God answer? Did God remove it? NO.

The Apostle Paul asked God on a third occasion if He would remove the thorn. Did God answer? YES. But did God remove it? NO.

Here is a tremendous lesson for every saint. We must NEVER, as some teach, stop praying if we don’t get an answer the first time. I’ve heard it said that if we ask a second time, then our first prayer was not prayed in faith. THAT’S RUBBISH! We are encouraged in scripture, never to give up but to keep on praying. (Luke 18:7)

I believe, in effect, God was saying to Paul, “I am not removing the thorn because I’m doing something better. I am giving you my grace to endure it”

for my strength is made perfect in weakness”

Although bodily weak, Paul needed to be a spiritual giant to carry out the work that God had given him to do. We all need to be spiritually strong in these last days. This world is a spiritually dark place. As the world gets darker, believers should be shinning brighter!

I believe Jesus Christ is our healer, no doubt about that. But it’s also true that if we never went through the trials of life, including bodily sickness and weakness, we would be spiritually weak and faithless. It’s through the trials, that our faith is stretched to the limit, and by doing so, grows stronger and stronger as we NEED TO TRUST HIM MORE.

His divine strength in us, is at it’s greatest, when we are at our weakest. If we are weak, we stop trusting in ourselves, and trust in Him. We serve Him in HIS STRENGTH not our own.

I am convinced, along with many others, that we are living in the last days before our Lord returns for His Church. Again this week, we suffer another round of date setters. They have a 100% failure rate! We can know the season of His coming but not the day or the hour. But one thing is sure, we are to “Watch and Pray” and be ready! (Luke 21:36)

For the trials of this life, while we wait, we need His strength and grace. Don’t believe those who teach that the Christian can have all their problems removed by faith, and if you still suffer, then it’s because you don’t have enough faith,or worse still, you have a demon. It’s absolute lies and has no basis in scripture.

Seek the Lord amid your trials, know His all sufficient GRACE and His perfect STRENGTH when you are at your weakest! You would never know His perfect strength, if you were never weak. Keep looking up! Our precious Saviour Jesus is returning soon to collect HIS TRUE CHURCH.

Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong”

Sunday Thought – Sunday 14th May 2017

And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.” Mark 6:31

So often, life can get the better of us, it crowds us in and demands far more than we able to give. We get worn down at times, and it does not only affect us in bodily tiredness, but can also send our health on a downward spiral. I am sure I am talking to many this morning who can relate to this, because it’s something that affects us all at one time or other.

If we are a true Christian, it not only takes it’s bodily toll on us but also can drain us spiritually. The big problem for us is admitting it! We don’t like to portray signs of weakness as Christians, we want everybody to see us as OVERCOMERS. Some even like to be seen as SUPA-CHRISTIANS, a self image where nothing of this world can ever get us down or make us weaker. But all of this is just a part of our human ego, and if we are really honest, not just with others but with ourselves also, we have to admit we can be brought low.

Jesus knew all about our weaknesses as human beings. For although He was rightfully God, He also became truly man.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men” Philippians 2: 5-7

Jesus Himself knew what it was to be tired and weary and he certainly knew what it was like to suffer pain.

In our opening text, Jesus saw that the disciples were tired and weary. They had just returned from their preaching and ministering expedition, related to us in verses 7-13 of the same chapter. Then, after hearing of the death of John the Baptist, they had collected his body and gave him a proper burial. They were tired and weary, duties had taken their toll, and our precious Saviour Jesus saw this, and knew they needed rest.

Come ye yourselves apart….and rest a while” Our Lord told His disciples.

There are times when He says those words to us also. Are you tuned in to hear His voice? A couple of weeks ago I sent out a Sunday Thought on the subject of HEALING and mentioned that Jesus doesn’t always heal. I thank those who responded to that with positive comments.

I mention this because this is one of the reasons we don’t receive the healing we seek. Jesus allows us to become sick and weak in body SO THAT WE HAVE TO TAKE OUR REST.

The pressures of this life are many, and especially so in Christian service. Please take a look and compare these two verses:

Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ” Galatians 6:2

For every man shall bear his own burden” Galatians 6:5

On the face of it you may think it looks like a contradiction, but God NEVER contradicts Himself! In the first verse (Gal.6:2) the word BURDEN means just that. It means A LOAD, A WEIGHT…we are to help others carry the weight of their load that often they cannot escape from.

In the second verse (Gal. 6:5) the word BURDEN means a TASK or SERVICE. They are different Greek words. We all have our various GOD GIVEN TASKS and OUR SERVICE FOR HIM that nobody else can do in our place.

So, we need to carry, conscientiously, the burden of our GOD GIVEN WORK but at the same time, help others carry the WEIGHT of their LOAD, that may be bringing them down low. None of us are exempt from obedience to what God is saying here. May our Lord search our hearts that we may do His divine will in these matters and rest a while, when we need to.

Love in Christ to you all…..Pastor Keith

Sunday Thought – Sunday 11th September 2016

Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you, will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ; even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye are all partakers of my grace.” Philippians 1:6-7

If you are a Christian who thinks or feels that they have ‘arrived’, or are in some way, the finished person our Lord wants you to be, then you are under a false illusion. You are ‘kidding’ yourself. As a pastor, I have met many people over the past 31 years, and it’s surprising how many of those people actually expected me to be perfect. They were very surprised when they spotted one of my many flaws. There have even been a few who took great delight in pointing out my imperfections!

On the other side of the coin, I have met Christians who carry around with them a heavy burden, always striving towards perfection, as if their salvation depended upon it, yet never satisfying the urge to live better, and finding that they can never actually do enough to make them feel content.

The Christians in both these ‘groups’ do not appear to have understood the clear New Testament teaching that we are A WORK OF HIS GRACE. Grace can never be ‘worked at’. It doesn’t even involve any conscious effort on our part, it’s totally HIS WORK IN US! It’s only as you understand and accept this truth, that you can actually begin STANDING IN THE GRACE OF GOD. It requires submission to His will and His working in our lives.

By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:2

Paul writing from prison to the Philippian Christians, says:

Being confident of this very thing….” Phil. 1:6

Which according to the Amplified Version, actually means….

I am convinced and sure of this very thing…”

What was Paul so confident of? He was confident and sure that the Great God and Saviour, who had saved and redeemed them, would go on to complete that work and bring them all to perfection, when Christ Jesus returns for His Church.

Do you honestly think that you can, by your own effort, bring yourself to perfection? In the process, you will end up beating yourself up for every failure you make, and instead of living a life of Joy in Christ, you will end up most miserable. But what did Jesus say?…..

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10

I don’t see that it’s abundant life if we go around with the heavy load of insufficiency, failure and the clear sense of NEVER BEING GOOD ENOUGH.

So, to any who would point out my flaws and failings, I would say I’m a perfect vessel in the making! I’m not yet finished! Get your eyes off me and start looking at JESUS.

Looking unto Jesus the AUTHOR and FINISHER of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

He is the AUTHOR of our faith, in other words, He started the work of salvation in our lives. He is also the FINISHER of our faith, what He started, HE WILL FINISH, we have His complete assurance on that. Which brings us right back to where we started…..

Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you, will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians 1:6

My dear Brothers & Sisters, start living in the Joy of the Lord, lay down your load, your burden of never being quite good enough, and just submit to Jesus, allow Him to work by His grace to bring you to perfection. And, when you reach perfection, I’ll be right there with you….IN THE AIR!

Behold I show you a mystery, we shall not all sleep, but we shall ALL BE CHANGED, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump….” 1 Corinthians 15:51-52

Pilate once asked Jesus “What is truth?” John 18:38 I’m thinking that maybe we need to ask, and answer this question again in our age. We are living in a time when mankind looks at truth as changing and relative to the situation we are in. This modern ‘take’ on truth cannot be found in the Bible. Biblical truth is always absolute and is unchanging. This is so because truth is rooted in God who always remains constant.

Jesus saith unto them, I am the way, the TRUTH and the life….” John 14:6

Does truth really matter? A look at Christendom today would make one feel that truth doesn’t really matter, at least not to the majority of professing Christians. But a careful look at the Bible, which is God’s precious word to us, shows us that truth is of absolute importance.

First of all, we are required to have a ‘love of the truth’ From the Old Testament, the end of Zechariah 8:19 God says:

….therefore love the truth and peace”

In the New Testament, we are told that those who will perish, will do so because:

they received not the love of the truth that they might be saved” 2 Thess. 2:10

This link between love and truth is brought out even more in 1 John 3: 18-19

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him”

This link between love and truth is extremely interesting. For we find today that it has become an ‘either or’ option for many professing Christians. The idea being that we need not bother too much about the truth, if we show the love! This is at the very heart of the social gospel preached by the majority in Christendom. It is seen as ‘right’ to show love, and to be loving to each other and to the lost, rather than get concerned for truth. This sentimental wishy washy love turns out to be not love at all, by Biblical standards.

We are exhorted in the text above (1 John 3: 18-19) to NOT LOVE IN WORD OR IN TONGUE, in other words telling folk we love them, in itself is meaningless. Our love for others should be IN DEED AND IN TRUTH. We should show a practical love that is based in truth.

It’s no good being kind and showing love, even meeting some of the needs of people, if we don’t also share the truth with them. If we know they are lost, then we need to warn them of their lost condition. And, we can’t even do that unless we ourselves KNOW THE TRUTH How can we lead people to Jesus, if we ourselves don’t even know the truth about getting saved?

So many today are getting completely deceived, by believing a false gospel given by false teachers and prophets. The order of the day in most religious establishments is getting people into Church fellowships, rather than getting their name written in the Lambs Book of Life! In fact, I wonder how many have even heard serious preaching on the subject of THE LAMBS BOOK OF LIFE (Revelation 13:8; 21:27)

The false gospel preached today is usually a “Come to Jesus” “Give your life to Jesus” with the promise that everything will go well for you once you obey the call. THIS IS A FALSE GOSPEL. It doesn’t save anybody because it’s not grounded in TRUTH. Then we end up with the situation that Jesus Himself spoke of in Matthew 7: 21-23:

Not everyone that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then I will profess to them, I never knew you; depart from Me ye that work iniquity”

What’s the point of just filling up a Church building? (other than to get their money?) Shouldn’t we be more concerned with populating heaven?

There is no salvation without REPENTANCE, and nobody can come to Jesus unless they are first drawn by the Father.

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent Me draw him, and I will raise him up at the last day” John 6:44

All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me, and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.” John 6:37

In my experience, I have found that many people like the idea of truth, as long as it doesn’t cross their preconceived ideas. If the truth demands change, then the truth is rejected. It’s often a case of ‘I believe what I believe, regardless of what the Bible actually says’

If we do not have a LOVE OF THE TRUTH, and allow the TRUTH to change our thinking, our ways and our very life, then we cannot be genuinely saved. I make no apologises for saying that because this is TRUTH.

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth that they might be saved” 2 Thess. 2:10

The REAL Church of Jesus Christ is founded upon TRUTH. It is founded upon Jesus Christ, who is THE TRUTH. Throwing truth out the window, because it doesn’t fit our agenda or thinking is just another way of rejecting Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. Reject Him at your peril.

…..the Church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth” 1 Timothy 3:15b

If your Church is not that, then it’s not a real, genuine Church.

A Thought for This Lord’s Day – Sunday 4th January 2015

GRACE be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.” Ephesians 6:24

Except for Romans, every one of Paul’s epistles ends with the GRACE OF GOD. In this, the first of my ‘Sunday Thoughts’ for 2015, I want to remind us all of this wonderful GRACE.

We are all “Saved by grace” Ephesians 2:8 and we are all kept, whilst we are standing in the GRACE OF GOD.

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein WE STAND, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God” Romans 5:1-2

Our great God is a GOD OF GRACE. He showers us with His grace day by day.

And the WORD was made flesh and dwelt among us (and we beheld His glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of GRACE AND TRUTH” John 1:14

And of His fulness have we all received, and GRACE FOR GRACE. For the law was given by Moses, but GRACE AND TRUTH came by Jesus Christ.” John 1:16-17

GRACE FOR GRACE” Means “One grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, even favour upon favour and gift heaped upon gift” Amp Version.

I could go on, quoting scripture after scripture, but I feel that the above verses are sufficient to show that our Great God is a God of GRACE.

It is good to go into this new year knowing that the GRACE OF GOD is with you, and that we are STANDING IN THE GRACE OF GOD.

We should not be chasing after works to impress our God as many do today and as many will boast of doing before His throne one day. (Matt 7:22) I know plenty who like to make a name for themselves, and who like to appear important in Christian circles. We are to follow after works because God before ordained that we should walk in them (Eph. 2:10) but not WORKS to bring glory to ourselves but works that bless others!

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto ALL MEN, especially unto them who are of the household of faith” Galatians 6:10

But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” 1 Timothy 5:8

Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.” Galatians 6:6

So my prayer for you all is that you will stand in the grace of God throughout 2015 and beyond if He should delay His coming further. And that ,providing you are truly saved, seek to bless others with good works, in the name of our Saviour Jesus. AND remember, Jesus is returning soon to collect up His true Church, maybe this year, 2015? KEEP WATCHING, KEEP PRAYING! (Luke 21:36)

A Thought for This Lord’s Day – Sunday 14th December 2014

And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary; for thou hast found favour with God. And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest, and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His father David and He shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there shall be no end” Luke 1:30-33

Part of the angel’s message to Mary was “For thou hast found favour with God” which can also rightly be translated “For thou hast found GRACE with God” Mary could do NOTHING without the GRACE of God! It is also the same with us today, we can do nothing (for Him) without His GRACE.

In Genesis 6:8 tells us that “Noah found GRACE in the eyes of the Lord” In fact it has always been so that mankind can do nothing for Him, without His GRACE. We were all under the law, that we could not keep, without Christ. That is why we have all “Come short” missed the mark of God’s perfection (Romans 3:23) But then God sent His only begotten Son.

But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” Galatians 4:4-5

When Jesus came into this world, His GRACE was made freely available to all who would believe and seek Him.

And of His fullness have all we received, and GRACE for GRACE. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ” John 1:16-17

How wonderful! Out of HIS ABUNDANCE (fullness) we have received “one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favour upon favour and gift (heaped) upon gift.” (from the Amplified Bible)

All of this, because God sent forth His only begotten Son.

CHRISTMAS is under attack today. Yes, the unbelieving world around us will have a giant celebration without even knowing what they are celebrating. We can expect nothing more from unbelievers, they do not profess to know Him.

But I find the biggest attack is coming from those who do make a profession of faith. Those who fill the Churches in our nations. I have been accused of being pagan because I have a Christmas tree! I’m sure you all know what I am talking about here.

But, these ‘so called’ Christians are sad beings who appear to know very little about His GRACE and all the blessings we have in CHRIST JESUS. The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ that He has showered upon me, is worth celebrating. It’s well worth celebrating the wonderful day that “grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”

When I celebrate Christmas, I am NOT worshipping pagan gods, I am acknowledging that wonderful day that Christ Jesus came into this world to save me. I am also acknowledging that this WONDERFUL SAVIOUR who came to die on the cross for me, ascended on high after His powerful resurrection and is returning very soon to collect His true CHURCH and take them back to the place He is now preparing for us. (John 14:3)

And, not only that, but I shall return again with Him, and all the saints, when He comes in great power and glory to rule from David’s throne, and of that kingdom, THERE SHALL BE NO END! (Luke 1:33)

All this, and so much more, I shall celebrate on December 25th. No, I don’t expect it is the right date, but as we are not told the date I’ll stick with the one we’ve got!

The blessings of Christ’s birth, to you all!

Brotherly love….Pastor Keith
